UPDATE! So We’re Not Getting That LeBron Story Back

ESPN has officially stuffed the LeBron story it pulled from ESPN LA yesterday, and got to the bottom of the problem: the writer.

↵↵We looked into the situation thoroughly and found that Arash did not properly identify himself as a reporter or clearly state his intentions to write a story. As a result, we are not comfortable with the content, even in an edited version, because of the manner in which the story was reported.

↵↵If LeBron’s people didn’t know he was a reporter, how’d he get the access in the first place? ESPN’s editors claim the story was under heavy editorial review and was inadvertently published. If this seems like an overly complex theory, we refer you to a custom internet motivational created just for this purpose. Markazi, the writer in question, may be suspended according to Deadspin.
