The Marlins have reportedly agreed to ship Jorge Cantu and money to the Rangers in exchange for a pair of minor league arms.

I’m not entirely sure what the holdup was, but the Marlins’ game is over, and Jorge Cantu has now officially been traded to the Texas Rangers.

Contrary to earlier indications, it seems the Jorge Cantu trade to Texas is close but not yet done. How do we know this? Jorge Cantu is playing for the Marlins, right now, having gone 1-3 and scoring a run against the Giants. When a player gets traded while he’s playing, he immediately gets pulled, so this one clearly isn’t finished.
It is, though, presumably very very close, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this move become official later today.
