Randy Wells Loses No-Hitter In 7th, But Cubs Still Prevail Over Reds, 3-1

Wells (4-6) gave up one run on five hits and a walk in 7 2/3 frames, and struck out five for the Cubs, who had dropped the first two games of this set. Wells also got his first win since April 30 against Arizona. He was 0-6 with a 5.76 earned-run average in 11 starts since.
