The Padres, Indians, and Cardinals have agreed to a three-way trade that will send Jake Westbrook to St. Louis and Ryan Ludwick to San Diego.

And Tom Krasovic has the name of the other prospect in today’s Jake Westbrook/Ryan Ludwick three-way trade as well.

Tom Krasovic gives us the name of one prospect going from San Diego to Cleveland in the Ryan Ludwick/Jake Westbrook three-way:
Kluber is a 24 year old righty starter who’s spent the year in the AA San Antonio rotation, where he’s posted a 3.45 ERA and 3.4 K/BB over 122.2 innings. He comes with a fastball in the low 90s and a slider that makes him successful against righties, but as is the case with so many middle-tier minor league starters, Kluber’s changeup remains a work in progress, and without it he’s looking at a future in the bullpen. He has, however, greatly improved his stock in 2010, and has a legitimate shot at a big league career.

So the Cardinals get their starter and the Padres make an impact, right-handed addition. San Diego now has outstanding outfield depth, which should form the makings of a potent bench come playoff time if they can maintain their current standing.
