    2010 John Deere Classic, Round 3: Steve Stricker Makes Course History

    Entering this year’s John Deere Classic, the the tournament’s all-time scoring record was held by J.P. Hayes, who scored 22-under in 2002. This year, Steve Stricker in position to shatter Hayes’ record.

    Stricker shot 9-under during Saturday’s round 3, marking birdies in six of his final nine holes. This puts him at a remarkable 25-under for the tournament, following an 11-under round 1 and a 5-under round 2. He’s already set the 36-hole record at TPC Deere Run.

    Paul Goydos Shoots Fourth Ever 59 In First Round Of John Deere Classic

    Paul Goydos became just the fourth ever player to shoot a 59 in a PGA event, joining only the likes of David Duvall, Al Geiberger, and Chip Beck in accomplishing the feat. Duvall was the most recent until now, recording a 59 in 1999 at the Bob Hope Classic.

    Goydos sank 12 birdies and recorded no bogeys in his opening round at the John Deere Classic, held at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. Barring anything unprecedented or unusual, Goydos will likely take a clubhouse lead into round 2 tomorrow, having a 5 stroke lead over his nearest competition.
