Gomi was able to use his height to keep the fight at the distance he wanted before finding a home for his right hand only 1:04 into the fight. Griffin went limp and hit the ground forcing the referee to step in and stop the fight. Griffin seemed to be trying to protest the stoppage but wasn’t able to stand up and from the replays it was clear that it was a good stoppage.
