R.A. Dickey Dominates Phillies With One-Hit Shutout; Mets Win, 1-0

Still no no-hitter for the Mets but R.A. Dickey threw a masterful one-hitter Friday night in a 1-0 win over the Phillies. Dickey’s a knuckball hurler by trade but Friday night he had the knuckler working to perfecting, according to Amazin’ Avenue:

Dickey (8-5) bounced back from his last start on Sunday in which he gave up six runs against the Phillies on August 8. In Friday’s game, he struck out seven and walked just one to help the Mets win back-to-back games for the first time since June 22-23.
