The loss to Frankie made me step back and realize I want to fight as much as I can. ... I don’t know if my biological clock is ticking or what, but I want to fight as much as possible. I want to make a push to be a true fighter, and I think I could be very active.
...
I thought I was God’s gift to fighting. I thought I would go 100-0 with 100 knockouts. When I sit back and look at my record, I can’t believe I have six losses. It just blows me away.
B.J. Penn Is Making Life Decisions Before UFC 118
I still maintain that Penn won the first fight, that being said Edgar was impressive in how he was able to control pace and avoid any big shots from Penn. The judges felt he did enough to outwork Penn and earn the decision and that means a hell of a lot more than what I think.
I keep looking at this fight to break it down and for the life of me I just can not see Edgar beating Penn again. B.J. is still the better striker, he’s very hard to take down and his submission game is far superior. Unless he looks sluggish and Edgar can bother him with in and out movement again I see Penn working to a very dominant decision win to avenge his loss.
