Vandy phenom Warren Norman has been sidelined at practice this week and will have an MRI on his mysteriously swollen right knee. Reasons this is worrisome:
Vanderbilt’s Warren Norman Held Out Of Practice With Knee Ailment
↵Coach Robbie Caldwell said it is unknown when Norman might have been injured, as he has sustained very little contact throughout preseason camp.
↵Norman had been the last of Vanderbilt’s top four running backs not to miss time due to injury in camp.
↵Reasons to not worry: Norman has two weeks to rehab, and this could still be nothing.
More reasons to worry: Norman was Vandy’s offense in 2009; the Commodores’ two wins were also the only two games in which he gained more than 100 yards rushing. As a last resort, it might not be the worst idea to let Robbie Caldwell get elbow-deep in that joint; we all know he’s got a marked affinity for body cavities. (Yes, Vanderbilt fans; if you’re out there, this is the FIRST OF MANY, MANY ROBBIE CALDWELL JOKES this season. The man is a national treasure and his talents should not go unappreciated.)
