Saturday’s Roto Roundup: Tim Hudson K’s 13 Marlins

Braves starter Tim Hudson struck out 13 Marlins on Saturday night and won his 15th game of the season. I am curious how many votes he will get for NL Cy Young this season. I recently dealt Hudson in an NL-only league, and he has continued to pitch well.

Twins new reliever Brian Fuentes earned the save on Saturday afternoon, striking out the only batter he faced. Does he get more save opportunities? I think he does. Matt Capps is hittable.

Athletics starter Dallad Braden shutout the Rangers in Texas on Saturday, holding them to just 4 hits and struck out one batter. Braden lowered his ERA to 3.28. He is not a big strikeout pitcher, but he doesn't walk many, doesn't give up many hits (just 139 in 151 innings pitched), and has a solid WHIP of 1.11.

Yankees starter CC Sabathia won his 18th game, but he certainly didn't do it in style. He gave up 5 runs on 9 hits, including 2 HRs. He struck out 9 and walked just one.

Braves infielder Martin Prado went 2-4 with a HR and 5 RBIs. He is hitting .319-.363-.493 with 15 HRs and 55 RBIs on the season. He is easily a Top 5 second baseman in 2011. He is on pace for 20 HRs, over 100 runs scored and a .300+ BA. He is solid across the board.

Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder went 3-6 with 2 HRs and 3 RBIs. Fielder has been a disappointment this season, but has the power to go on a HR streak to push him to the 40 homer level this season. He is hitting .272-.405=.497 with 28 HRs and 68 RBIs.

Diamondbacks starter Dan Hudson held the Giants to 2 runs in 7 innings, giving up 4 hits, 2 walks and striking out 6. He has gone at least 7 innings in each of his 6 starts with the Diamondbacks since the trade with the White Sox. He has struck out 42 batters and walked 8 in 43.2 innings in those 6 starts.
