While he has dazzled in the preseason, it doesn’t appear that the Bills are yet ready to move rookie running back C.J. Spiller up the depth chart just yet. Which is a shame for those who want to take the running back selected in the draft right around the time Jahvid Best goes.
How Soon Will C.J. Spiller Get To Start?
↵No one is going to confuse Chan Gailey with the brightest minds in football, but at this point, Spiller has to be considered close in terms to Best’s value. Jahvid Best will be eased into the starting role likely over the first four weeks of the season. In all likelihood, C.J. Spiller will stand out over Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch to earn the feature back role with the Bills.
↵But because there isn’t a definite timeline or assurances from the coaching staff that this will happen, Spiller has dropped to a mid to late round selection in many drafts. While he might not warrant a RB1 or RB2 position on every team, Spiller is certainly too good of a value to be positioned on the bench for an entire season.
