The Grizzlies are reportedly closing in on signing point guard Acie Law, according to Hoops World's Alex Kennedy.
Grizzlies Reportedly Close To Signing Acie Law
The thrice-traded Law would presumably be an end-of-the-bench option for Memphis, behind O.J. Mayo, Mike Conley and Tony Allen. After an illustrious collegiate career at Texas A&M, Law has struggled in the pros, posting a career-high of 4.3 points per game between three stops last season.
While it’s difficult to imagine Law making much of an impact on the court, it’s possible his signing could presage the Grizzlies moving the also disappointing Conley. Law would give them enough of a backup option that they could shop Conley -- presumably moving O.J. Mayo over to the point -- and still have decent depth at the position.
