Alabama Ranked No. 1 In 2010 Preseason Coaches Poll

Alabama will begin the 2010 season where it finished the 2009 one: atop the coaches’ poll.

NIck Saban’s squad received 55 of 59 first-place votes in the USA Today Coaches’ poll, well ahead of second-place Ohio State. And really, this shouldn’t be too much of a surprise; when you return your Heisman-winning running back (and his backfield-mate who might be better), your All-America wide receiver, your quarterback, and a slew of defensive pieces from a team that went undefeated last season, this tends to happen.

Jim Tressel's Ohio State team took second place, with the Tim Tebow-less Florida Gators receiving something of a vote of confidence at third. Texas and Boise State round out the top five, followed by Virginia Tech, TCU, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Iowa.
