SB Nation’s NFL team writers give us the scoop on their team’s fantasy prospects for Week 1.
Week 1 Fantasy Football Scouting Reports: Oakland Raiders
This is a very tough week to start any Oakland raider NOT named Zach Miller. Miller is Jason Campbell’s favorite target and I am looking for him to get anywhere from 6-10 catches this week, which is outstanding for a tight end.
Michael Bush shouldn’t see any game action until AT LEAST week 5 and Darren McFadden has only rushed for 100 yards once in his career.
Chaz Schilens is out and Louis Murphy and Darrius Heyward Bey haven’t proven that they are worth starting over any other team’s number one or two receiver.
In leagues that count return yardage, Yamon Figurs is returning BOTH kick offs and punts, so, he may be a good pickup.
For the future, you definitely want to look at Oakland’s Defense as well as DHB and Murphy as I have high hopes for all three of them.

If you have any Redskins on your roster you’re in for one bumpy ride. I’ve chatted with several players personally and they said that the fans will be “wow’d” with the game plan Shanahan came up with for Dallas. Does that mean they’ll score 5 more points than their bottom feeding average last year? No one knows. If you have better options at all positions, I would start them, but I expect Chris Cooley to have a great game. Donovan McNabb loves TEs and Cooley has that Dallas Clark ability to always get open. Clinton Portis should see a significant amount of carries and now that the Redskins have a revamped 1-cut zone-blocking scheme, Portis is back into the system where he had success in the past.
