2010 U.S. Open, Men’s Semifinals: Ho Hum, Rafael Nadal Is Headed To Final

Like Homer Simpson said, “I’ve seen plays that were more exciting than this. Honest to God…plays!” There really wasn’t anything compelling about Rafael Nadal’s 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 victory over No. 12 Mikhail Youzhny in the first men’s semifinal of the 2010 U.S. Open Saturday.

Nadal is on a rampage. He’s lost his serve only twice in the tournament. He hasn’t dropped a set yet.

Youznhy was just delaying what CBS hopes is inevitable; a Nadal/Roger Federer final. CBS is PRAYING that happens. Although to be honest, even Federer/Nadal, which has never happened at the Open, probably isn’t enough to pull people away from the first Sunday of the NFL season en masse. Sorry, not probably. Definitely. Packers/Eagles! Cardinals/Rams! 49ers/Seahawks! Oh, never mind.
