Friday’s Roto Roundup: Tulowitzki/Bautista Homer Twice

Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki continued his hot hitting on Friday, hitting two homers in the Rockies 13-4 win over the Diamondbacks. Tulo went 3-3 with 2 HRs, a double, 3 RBIs and scored 4 runs. Quite a night. Tulo is now hitting .327-.394-.567 with 20 HRs and 72 RBIs this season. He has 5 HRs in his last 3 games, and 8 HRs in his last 8 games.

Jorge de la Rosa won his 7th game of the season holding the Diamondbacks to two runs in 6 innings of work while striking out 10. JDLR is a free agent at the end of the season, and it will be interesting to see if he resigns with the Rockies.

Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez had one of his wild starts again on Friday. He held the Padres to one hit in 5 innings, but walked 7 and struck out just 4. Last pre-season, some experts were comparing Sanchez to Clayton Kershaw as both pitchers strikeout alot of guys and walk alot of guys, but it appears Kershaw has harnessed his wildness a bit better than Sanchez this season.

Blue Jays outfielder Jose Baustista his two more HRs and drove in 4 on Friday night. Bautista is hitting .266-.385-.621 with 46 HRs and 110 RBIs this season. It appears he will hit 50 HRs this season, a feat many thought would be impossible for him at the beginning of the season. He could come cheap in 2011 drafts as many will not expect him to repeat his 2010 power surge.

Rays outfielder B.J. Upton went 2-5 with a HR on Friday. He has homered in 3 straight games now and 4 of his last 5. He is hitting just .239-.325-.433 with 17 HRs, 53 RBIs and 39 SBs. He could go 20-40 this season and could be a top 15 outfielder in 2011 drafts despite his low BA.

Pirates outfielder Jose Tabata went 2-5 with an RBI, run scored and 2 SBs. He is now hitting .307-.357-.410 with 4 HRs, 26 RBIs and 16 SBs in 322 at bats. He stole 25 bases in AAA this season, so he could steal 35+ in 2011.

Tigers starter Fausto Carmona won his 12th game of the season shutting out the Twin in a complete game shutout. He held the Twins to 3 hits and a walk and struck out 7, lowering his ERA to 3.86.
