Novak Djokovic played the match of his life Saturday. Can he do it again? If not, Rafael Nadal will carve him up Sunday afternoon in the 2010 U.S. Open final. But if Djokovic’s legs aren’t heavier than cement, I think it goes at least four sets. (I hope that happens.)
2010 U.S. Open, Men’s Final: Rafael Nadal Faces Novak Djokovic
If you’re an NFL fan without picture-in-picture, check back with us for updates all afternoon.
A few notes on the proceedings:
1. It’s raining in New York. The USTA just released a statement saying the match is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. Here’s the full text:
Play is currently suspended.
Based on the latest official weather report from the US Open Meteorologist, we expect light rain to continue for a period, followed by the chance of a light shower this afternoon.
Based on the forecast and in an effort to complete all championship matches, the Women’s Doubles Final will be completed on Louis Armstrong Stadium as soon as the court is dry, and the Men’s Singles Final will be played on Arthur Ashe Stadium at 4:30 p.m.

2. Nadal has a 14-7 career record against Djokovic, but the latter player has won their last three meetings, all of which were on hard courts.
3. If Nadal wins, he’ll become the fourth man ever to complete the career Grand Slam in the open era. Roger Federer, Andre Agassi and Rod Laver are the others.
4. Not men’s final related, but definitely worth mentioning: Esther Vergeer won the women’s wheelchair championship in straight sets. She’s won 396 straight matches. Here’s a look at her impressive career.
