Texas A&M AD Bill Byrne Answers His Fan Mail

Texas A&M athletic director Bill Byrne has been described to us by a fan as an almost comically folksy guy and a perfect embodiment of the spirit of the university: “Determined, loyal, sentimental, shameless, and dim.” And his habit of answering reader mail on the school’s website leads to exactly the kind of exchanges you’d expect:

The birds and the bats seem to be able to put out more residue than we can wash away. We had no reports of fire ants this week, but it is getting to that time of year for the cricket infestation. So we will ask our friends from ABC Home and Commercial Services to be on standby.↵If you’ve never been to College Station ... yeah, this is pretty much it. Honestly, this should go on the front of all their recruiting brochures.
