Just one week into the NFL season and it looks like three starting QBs will be unable to answer the bell for Week 2.
NFL Week 2 Injury Report: Time To Check Your Fantasy Football Lineup
RB Beanie Wells is listed as questionable for the second straight week and according to Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt, will be a “game time decision.” Wells had been improving during the week, but his knee swelled up on Friday and he was very limited in practice. Whether he’s able to play or not shouldn’t matter, he should be sitting on your fantasy bench.
WR Early Doucet is out with a groin injury
WR Michael Jenkins is out for a second straight week for the Falcons
In what is sure to be a huge shock to anyone that has previously owned Todd Heap, he's injured again! Heap is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, but he said this week that he does expect to play.
For the Bills, the big injury is to LB Paul Posluszny who is out with a knee injury. That will certainly hurt them against the run.
This game is probably more about who is not injured for Dallas. They'll be getting T Marc Colombo & G Kyle Kosier back. That means Alex Barron to the bench which is good news for anyone that owns a Dallas skill player.
TE Owen Daniels has been limited all week in practice with a knee injury, but he'll play Sunday. He struggled with the same injury last week and managed just one catch for 9 yards against the Colts.
Donovan McNabb is listed as questionable for the Redskins again and again he'll obviously play. It's hard to say whether the injury or the Dallas defense contributed to his poor week one. He threw no TDs and completed less than 50% of his passes for a QB rating of just 63.
Shawne Merriman looks like he'll be back after he was upgraded to probable this week. His return could be a big boost to a San Diego defense that's in need of someone to rush the passer.
RB Jacob Hester had been limited in practice all week with a foot injury, but practiced fully on Friday and is listed as probable.
KC could be without two defensive ends this week as both Tamba Hali (foot) and Tyson Jackson (knee) are listed as questionable.
QB Jake Delhomme is doubtful with an ankle injury. Reports are that Browns coach Eric Mangini will make a gametime decision on Delhomme. Not like you'd be starting Delhomme anyway...
WR Percy Harvin is listed as questionable this week with a hip bruise, but the WR said it was "no big deal."
Brett Favre is still feeling the effects of the ankle, but he'll play.
WR Julian Edelman is questionable with a foot injury, but with the resurgence of Wes Welker it's questionable what if any fantasy value Edleman has even when healthy.
Also the Patriots win the award for weirdest injury report of the week after listing Wes Welker as probable with "not injury related." I neglected to mention last week's weird injury of the week, which was the Eagles listing DeSean Jackson as PROBABLE (TEETH).
For the Jets, LB Calvin Pace is still out and CB Darrell Revis is probably with a hamstring. Might as well have called that one "not in game shape." It'll be interesting to see him matchup with Randy Moss this weekend.
The big news from this one is that neither starting QB will be in the lineup for week two. Kevin Kolb (concussion) & Matthew Stafford (shoulder) are both out.
LB Stewart Bradley is also out with a concussion.
No injuries of note
The Seahawks will be without top pick Russel Okung for the second straight game.
St Louis Rams At Oakland Raiders
RB Michael Bush is listed as questionable and looks likely to miss his second straight game.
QB Matt Moore looks like he will after suffering a concussion last week against the Giants. Of course, why would you own Matt Moore?
NY Giants At Indianapolis Colts
Two big injuries for NYG this week. TE Kevin Boss is officially out after suffering a concussion last week. WR Hakeem Nicks missed both Wednesday and Thursday's practice with an ankle injury, but he did some limited work Friday. He's listed as questionable and will be a game time decision.
Problem is, the Giants play at night. So if you start Nicks and he doesn’t play, you’ll have already missed your chance to start someone else.
WR Ted Ginn is likely out this week with a sprained knee and could very well miss next also.
