Calvin Johnson Promises To Thumb Nose At Officiating With Touchdown Celebration

After Calvin Johnson’s “dropped” touchdown catch against the Bears last week, the Lions receiver would be excused for steaming and stewing. Instead, he’s just hinting at poking fun at the ruling should he get into the end zone this week.

↵“I’ve thought about it. You’ll have to find out, though, if I get in the zone,” Johnson said Friday with a laugh.↵It remains to be seen how funny or wise this celebration is, considering it would likely involve spoofing the officials in some way. But Johnson may have problems just getting into the end zone with Matthew Stafford out: just one of his five touchdowns in 2009 came after Stafford got injured, and Shaun Hill will start in Stafford’s place today.
