Halladay is the Phillies’ first 20-game winner since Steve Carlton went 23-11 in a Cy Young winning year of 1982. He is also the first Phillies right- hander to win at least 20 games in a season since Hall-of-Famer Robin Roberts in 1955.
In the top of the ninth, Lidge surrendered a leadoff single to Lee, but fanned McLouth before two straight fly outs ended the contest and earned Lidge his 25th save of the season.
