Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista homered for 50th time this season, off of Mariners ace Felix Hernandez, one of the two hits off of Felix. I don't see Bautista duplicating his 50 HR season in 2011, but he could be a 30 HR guy.
Thursday’s Roto Roundup: Bautista Joins The 50 HR Club
Speaking of Felix, he gave up just just the one run on two hits and lost....again. He gave up 2 hits, 4 walks and struck out 5. For the season he is just 12-12 with a 2.31 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. He may not win the Cy Young award, but he deserves it.
The day after I compare Albert Pujols to Joey Votto, Albert goes out and homers twice and drives in 3. Pujols now has 41 HRs and 112 RBIs. He will still be the #1 pick in fantasy drafts in 2011, but I still have in the back of mind that one of these years he will be a bust.
In a matchup pitting Rays starter David Price vs Yankees ace CC Sabathia, Sabathia came up small as he gave up 7 runs on 10 hits and 3 walks in 5+ innings. Sabathia's ERA rose to 3.26, but his 20 wins still might sway the AL Cy Young award voters to vote for him. Sabathia will be a top 5-10 starting pitcher entering 2011 fantasy drafts.
Current Rays outfielder, and possibly future Yankee, Car Crawford went 3-5 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. He is now hitting .309-.360.-.493 with 16 HRs, 86 RBIs and 46 SBs. He is probably the #1 outfielder entering 2011 drafts.
In probably his best performance of the season, Giants starter Madison Bumgarner came up big in shutting out the Cubs for 7 innings on 7 hits, a walk and 9 strikeouts. MadBum lowered his ERA to 3.06 in winning his 6th game of the season. I could see the Giants dealing either Matt Cain or Jonathan Sanchez this offseason for a big bat.
