Monday night was a good night for the Atlanta Braves, as their win, coupled with San Diego's loss, allowed them to re-take the lead in the NL Wild Card. However, it wasn't all peaches, as infielder Martin Prado injured his hip attempting a diving catch, and then re-aggravated the injury with a swing the next inning. How bad is it? This bad.
Martin Prado ‘Out For A While’ With Hip Injury
"Prado's definitely going to be out a while," #Braves manager Bobby Cox said
Prado, who began the year at second base, has more recently switched to third to cover for the injured Chipper Jones. And the 26 year old has posted a batting line of .307/.350/.459 from the top of the lineup. By and large, he's been a productive player, making this injury significant. Though the Braves love Brooks Conrad, who will fill in for Prado while he's out, he might be over-exposed as a starter, and moving him up reduces the talent on the bench.
It’s going to be a tight week for Atlanta, and you can read more about them and Prado over at Talking Chop.
