Adam Wainwright To Miss Final Start With Forearm Strain

A very successful 2010 season for Adam Wainwright is set to come to an early end:

#Cardinals announce that Adam Wainwright will skip next start for precautionary reasons due to a right forearm muscle strain. -cut awayless than a minute ago via web

Wainwright recently had an MRI that revealed the muscle strain. It isn’t considered a big deal, and Wainwright allegedly injured his arm by sleeping on it funny nine days ago, but there’s no sense in rushing him back at this point.

Wainwright's final line reads: 33 starts, 230.1 innings, 2.42 ERA, 56 walks, and 213 strikeouts. Though the Cardinals faded down the stretch, it was not the fault of their top ace, and he will return in 2011 looking to push the team back to first place, where many expected it to finish in 2010.
