Nationals SS Danny Espinosa went 4-5 with 2 HRs, a double, and 6 RBIs on Sunday. I wrote about Espinosa a few days ago, and if he continues to hit like this the offseason hype machine will be in full swing with ranking Espinosa. I think he can hit 15 HRs and steal 15 bases in 2011.
Sunday’s Roto Roundup: Danny Espinosa Homers Twice And Drives in 6
Orioles starter Brian Matusz won his 8th game of the season in holding the Yankees to 3 runs in 6 innings. He gave up 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 4. Matusz is only rosterable in mixed leagues and keeper leagues at this point, but has a bright future.
Marlins outfielder Mike Stanton went 3-5 with a HR and 3 RBIs on Sunday. He is hitting just .240-.308-.487 with 16 HRs and 44 RBIs in 267 at bats. His K/BB rate of 93-26 is terrible, but he has the potential to hit 30+ HRs in 2011.
Blue Jays starter Ricky Romero held the Rangers to one run in 7 innings, giving up 7 hits, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Romero is now 12-8 with a 3.51 ERA, A 1.28 WHIP and 155 strikeouts in 187 innings this season.
Pirates second baseman Neil Walker went 1-4 with a HR and 2 RBI on Sunday. Walker, originally a third baseman in the minors, switched to second base this season and the move has paid off. He is 7th among NL second baseman in HRs, tied for 5th in RBIs, and 3rd in BA, in about 50 less games. He's a sleeper in 2011 fantasy drafts.
Brewers outfielder Corey Hart went 3-4 with 3 runs scored, 2 HRs and 3 RBIs. Hart has had a very nice bounceback season in 2010, hitting .283-.338-.542 with 27 HRs and 88 RBIs, but has only 6 SBs in 9 attempts. I attribute the lack of SBs from Hart on the shoulders of manager Ken Macha as he isn't utlizing the speed of Rickie Weeks, Ryan Braun and Alcides Escobar either.
A's starter Brett Anderson held the Mariners to one run in 7+ innings of work on Sunday to win his 4th game of the season. He gave up just 4 hits and struck out 4, and lowered his ERA to 2.97. Anderson is a Top 30 pitcher when healthy, and fantasy owners are hoping for an injury-free 2011 season.
Rockies starter Ubaldo Jiminez won his 18th game of the season on Sunday, but it wasn't his best showing of the season. He gave up 4 runs, on 7 hits, 6 walks and struck out 8 in 6 innings of work. I think Ubaldo has a solid shot at winning the NL Cy Young award, and has a very good shot at winning 20 games.
Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez went 3-5 with 2 doubles, a run scored and 2 RBIs. CarGo is now hitting .340-.375-.616 with 31 HRs, 97 RBIs and 23 SBs. Is he the #1 pick in 2011 fantasy drafts?
