Todd Duffee, considered by many a major heavyweight prospect, has been unexpectedly released from the UFC. Josh Gross of Sports Illustrated tweeted the following:

↵Quote from Duffee's manager Alex Davis. Great one. Via text: "Well, I'm not sure exactly what the problem or problems were.I tryed [sic] ... hard to avoid, but Dana wasn't listening. It unfortunate, but Todd's an ass." Said Duffee will keep fighting, of course.

↵We really need more details and speculating on what happened would be inappropriate. But when your own manager calls you an ass and makes it sound like you’re at fault for losing a contract with the biggest MMA organization on the planet...that’s not a good thing.
↵Update: Gross has issued a clarification. The quote was supposed to be “asset” which obviously changes the tone of the story.
↵We’re still waiting on more details on the situation to come out at this point.
