Tuesday’s Roto Roundup: David Price Wins His 17th

Rays starter David Price won his 17th game of the season vs the Red Sox on Tuesday. He gave up 2 runs on 2 hits, 4 walks and just 2 strikeouts. Price benefitted from 14 runs of support on Tuesday. Price has increased his K/9 by more than a strikeout per inning in 2010.

Rays outfielder Carl Crawford went 4-4 with 3 doubles and 2 RBIs on Tuesday. Crawford now has 30 doubles, 10 triples, 15 HRs, 98 runs scored, and 42 SBs. He will get a very nice contract in 2011.

Blue Jays outfielder Vernon Wells went 3-3 with 2 solo HRs on Tuesday. Wells now has 27 HRs and 77 RBIs on the season, and has had a very nice bounceback season this year.

Marlins outfielder Mike Stanton likes to hit at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, as he homered in his 3rd straight game on Tuesday. Stanton now has 18 HRs in 275 at bats, or about a home run every 15 at bats. Not bad for a 20 year old.

Phillies outfielder Shane Victorino went 2-5 with 2 runs scored, including his 17th HR and 30th SB of the season. Victorino has been a very valuable hitter in fantasy leagues this season, but his .257 BA and .321 OBP are mediocre. He could be a Top 10-15 outfielder for 2011 fantasy drafts.

Yankees starter CC Sabathia got knocked around in his quest for his 20th win on Tuesday, giving up 6 runs, 5 earned, on 9 hits and a walk. Sabathia should win 20 games this season for the first time in his career.

Mets first baseman Ike Davis went 2-3 with a HR and 3 RBIs on Tuesday. Davis is hitting .258-.347-.446 with 18 HRs and 64 RBIs on the season. Davis has now homered in 3 of his last games, and appears to be ending his rookie season on a high note. I can see Davis approaching 30 HRs in 2011.

Francisco Liriano won his 13th game of the season, holding the Royals to just 2 runs on 7 hits in 7 innings of work. Liriano struck out 4 and walked none. Liriano could be a Top 20 pitcher in 2011.

Twins outfielder Delmon Young went 3-4 with a run scored and 4 RBIs on Tuesday. Young is hitting .303-.344-.488 with 16 HRs and 97 RBIs this season. Young is another guy who has had a breakout season in 2010.

Brewers reliever Trevor Hoffman earned his 600th save of his career on Tuesday night. Hoffman's save was just his 9th of the season.

Jhoulys Chacin had another solid start on Tuesday as he gave up just 2 runs on 6 hits, a walk, and 5 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Chacin now has 8 wins on the season and is a sleeper in 2011 fantasy drafts. I think he could have a breakout season next year.
