If Patience Is A Virtue, John Lindsey Is A Saint

John Lindsey waited 16 years to see his name in a major league box score. He’ll have to wait another day to “officially” play his first game.

↵Something tells me Lindsey has learned to be patient. He’d have to be considering the journey he took to get to the big leagues.

↵Lindsey, who was recently called up from Triple A by the Dodgers after more than 1,500 games in the minor leagues, was sent to pinch hit in the eighth inning Thursday night in San Diego.

↵If this was Hollywood, Lindsey would have hit a home run. In reality, he was himself removed for a pinch hitter before ever making it to the plate.

↵How could Dodgers manager Joe Torre be so cruel? Come on, give the man an at bat already.

↵Anyone who spent nearly half his life riding in crowded buses and sleeping in cheap motels deserves it.
