2011 NFL Draft Results: Gabe Carimi To Chicago Bears

With the 29th pick in the 2011 NFL draft, the Chicago Bears surprised no one by picking an offensive lineman. The newest Bear will be Wisconsin OT Gabe Carimi.

Carimi is considered one of the safer picks in the 2011 NFL draft. He’s a four-year starter from Wisconsin so NFL GMs has plenty of game tape on him. He played left tackle for the Badgers but could project to right tackle, or even guard, in the NFL. He says where he players in the NFL doesn’t matter to him.

“I know I can play left tackle but it’s wherever the team needs are and that’s where I’m going to fit in and work my butt off,” he said. “I can play four spots on the field and that’s what I’m going to be working hard for.”

He’s seen as a hard-worker who may never go to a Pro Bowl but has a very high floor. He’s one of those guys that won’t get in trouble and should fit in with any team smoothly. Carimi looks ready to step onto the field and play immediately in the NFL, too.
