2011 NFL Draft Results: Jacquizz Rodgers To Falcons

As the 2011 NFL draft moves into the fifth round, let’s examine picks 143-147:

143. Dallas Cowboys elect DB Josh Thomas of Buffalo. Waiting until the fifth round to draft secondary help may have been a mistake, but Thomas could be a solid nickel or dime corner.

144. Houston Texans select S Shiloh Keo of Idaho. Keo was the lone stud for Idaho, but also had an above-average combine. And he may have the most mellifluous name of the entire draft.

145. Atlanta Falcons select RB Jacquizz Rodgers of Oregon State. Rodgers has all sorts of speed and quickness, and could be a dynamic third-down back or pass-catcher out of the backfield. It's unclear whether the Falcons are aware they have a defense, though.

146. Washington Redskins select S Dejon Gomes of Nebraska. Gomes was part of a strong Nebraska secondary in 2010. May need some time to crack the Redskins' depth chart.

147. Jacksonville Jaguars select DB Rod Issac of Middle Tennessee State. Another team looks to rebuild a flammable secondary with a small-school performer.

Rounds 4 through 7 of the NFL Draft all take place on Saturday afternoon. Stay tuned to this StoryStream for live draft results.
