2011 NFL Draft Results: Redskins Take Third Nebraska Player In Niles Paul

The 2011 NFL Draft is winding up its fifth round. Let’s examine picks 153-157:

153. New York Jets select WR Jeremy Kerley of TCU. Kerley gives the Jets a special teams dynamo and a slot receiver who has impressive quickness and speed.

154. Seattle Seahawks select DB Richard Sherman of Stanford. Sherman brings enviable size for a corner to the Seahawks' defensive backfield. Seattle's draft strategy appears to be Pick Players People Will Have To Google.

155. Washington Redskins select WR Niles Paul of Nebraska. Paul is a strong wideout with some running back skills, and could be a very good possession receiver. He's also the third Cornhusker taken by Washington today, joining Roy Helu and Dejon Gomes.

156. Seattle Seahawks select S Mark LeGree of Appalachian State. LeGree is smallish for a safety, but makes up for it with excellent ball skills.

157. Detroit Lions select LB Douglas Hogue of Syracuse. Lions continue loading up on defenders with a productive Big East player.

Rounds 4 through 7 of the NFL Draft all take place on Saturday afternoon. Stay tuned to this StoryStream for live draft results.
