Max Starks was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers during the preseason, but with injury woes on the offensive line, the front office has decided to re-sign him.
Max Starks Re-Signed By Pittsburgh Steelers To Shore Up Offensive Line
The Steelers have been dealing with numerous injuries on the offensive line this season so it makes sense that they’d sign a veteran who is familiar with the team’s offense -- especially if he worked hard to get in shape while biding his time as a free agent. Steelers Digest reports that Pittsburgh will waive Chris Scott in order to sign the veteran tackle.
The Steelers will count on Starks being healthy more than anything, it would seem, as every starter on the offensive line has missed time due to injury so far this season. Prior to the 2010 season, when he was placed on the Injured Reserve, Starks had played in 78 of a possible 80 games for the Steelers following his rookie year.
