There is no radio show I enjoy more than the Dan Patrick Show. If you know about the show, you know the Danettes. My favorite is Andrew Perloff, aka an NFL writer for Sports Illustrated, aka McLovin’.
Rock out with your mock draft out: McLovin’
As said, Perloff is an NFL writer for SI and has a penchant for mock drafts. His mock is the first from a "name" writer or draft site that has put Blaine Gabbert as the first overall pick to the Panthers. His reasoning is interesting:
Quarterbacks have gone No. 1 overall eight out of the past 10 years. CAA, which represents Gabbert, has represented seven of the past eight overall No. 1 picks.
Another interesting selection he has is Tyron Smith going to Dallas ninth overall. It's going to be popular to see an offensive tackle shoehorned into the top part of the first round. But how often do people preach taking top talent at the top? It just doesn't make sense to see Smith, Derek Sherrod or Anthony Castonzo anywhere inside the top 15.
Perloff does the first 24 picks, so make sure to check it out. Like his mock or not, you have to like getting a mock from Sports Illustrated. Well, at least I do.
