You have to drop to ninth in January's FIFA World Rankings before you see a chance, and only two of the list's top 20 nations saw changes in their point total. Spain, followed by the Netherlands, remain distances from the rest of the world, ranking one and two in today's release of FIFA's list.
Spain, Netherlands Remain Top Of Static FIFA World Rankings
The 2010 World Cup finalists are followed by Germany, Brazil, Argentina, England, Uruguay and Portugal, all holding the same spots and point totals as last month. In ninth Croatia moves up one spot, Egypt sitting 10th after losing 41 points. Spots 11 through 14 are occupied by European nations (Greece, Norway, Russia and Italy), while Chile, Ghana, Slovenia, USA, France, and Slovakia round out the top 20.
The highest ranking Asian confederation country is Australia. The Socceroos sit 26th.
The biggest jumps in the rankings come from two Asian nations. Qatar is up nine spots from 114 to 105, while China gains eight places, moving to 79th.
