Friday NFL Draft links to click

SB Nation Seattle - Taiwan Jones in the the draft
Eastern Washington running back Taiwan Jones is entering the 2011 NFL Draft. As a junior, he ran for 1,742 yards and 14 touchdowns. He caught three more touchdown passes. Here is a video of Jones jumping out of a pool backward. A friend who lives in Washington was nice enough to burn a couple EWU games on DVD for me, so hopefully I get them in the mail soon.

NFP - Fresno State’s Jamel Hamler in draft
There are always several surprise early entrants to the draft, and Hamler is the latest. Hamler caught 54 passes for 812 yards and six touchdowns this season.

Football Outsiders - QBs of the 2011 Draft Part II
If you read one long-form story on the draft this week, make it Doug Farrar's excellent breakdown of Ryan Mallett and Blaine Gabbert. On Mallett, Farrar says he could either be the next Joe Flacco or the next Dan McGwire.

Niners Nation - QBs that could fit the West Coast offense
This is an excellent post from DrewK on the quarterbacks in this year’s draft who could fit the WCO and why. Among them are Pat Devlin,

Greg McElroy

,

Jake Locker

,

Kirk Cousins

and

Ben Chappell

. I might have shoehorned

Christian Ponder

and

Andy Dalton

in there, but that’s just me.

Buffalo Rumblings - Five intriguing invites to watch at the Senior Bowl
During the Senior Bowl, Bills fans may want to keep an eye on Greg McElroy, Luke Stocker, Ryan Kerrigan, Christian Ballard and Kelvin Sheppard. That's quite the disparity of prospects.

Turf Show Times - Lots of possibilities for the Rams and their 14th pick
VanRam kind of breaks down how a top receiver could be available for the Rams with the 14th pick.

ESPN.com - Could Bills or Dolphins be after Cam Newton?
That’s the speculation of AFC East blogger Tim Graham.

Arrowhead Pride - 2010 draft selections were as advertised
The rookies on the Chiefs played as well as everyone expected. More so, they’re going to shape Kansas City’s turnaround.

Cat Scratch Reader - Thoughts on A.J. Green No. 1 overall

More notes:

- Florida safety Will Hill officially declared for the draft today.

- Georgia Tech free safety Jerrard Tarrant has declared for the draft.

- Kentucky linebacker Danny Trevathan will return for his senior season.

He’s a bit of a liability in the run game, but his potential in the pass game was enough for Buffalo Rumblings.
