On Saturday, No. 18 Louisville found itself dragging against Big East rival Marquette. At home, the Cardinals found themselves down, 64-47, with 5:44 remaining in the game. What followed was one of the very most unbelievable comebacks in recent NCAA basketball memory.
Louisville 71, Marquette 70: No. 18 Cardinals Mount Unbelievable Comeback Vs. Big East Rival
After coach Rick Pitino made some adjustments, Louisville assembled a 24-6 run to knock off Marquette and win, 71-70. Preston Knowles and Terrence Jennings powered the Cardinals' resurgence, and Louisville executed well from the free-throw line. The Cards finally took the lead when Kyle Kuric took the feed from Preston Knowles and laid it in with four seconds remaining in the game.
Louisville shot 45.6% from the field, as opposed to Marquette's 33.3%. The Cardinals were led in scoring by Knowles, who was good for 17 points and knocked down five of eight three-point attempts. Stephan Van Treese and Kyle Kuric added ten apiece.
