The No. 8 Purdue Boilermakers continue to be who we thought they were, dropping their second-straight game by losing 68-64 to the West Virginia Mountaineers. The 'Makers had won 10 in a row before losing to the Minnesota Golden Gophers last week, and some had begun talking about them as a potential Big Ten contender.

But they played nary a ranked team during that run and are just now getting into the really tough part of their schedule.
The Mountaineers are now 12-4 and on a four-game win streak that includes two takedowns of top-15 teams. They were led tonight by Kevin Jones' 17 points and nine rebounds and John Flowers' 15 points and seven boards. JaJuan Johnson led Purdue, as he usually does, with 26 points, but didn't get a whole lot of help, with only one other 'Due exceeding 10 points.
