SB Nation Soccer reported last week that departures were more likely to be the case at Manchester City than arrivals. One week on and while Roberto Mancini is wishing for the end to January, it seems as if our theory was correct as recent reports suggest Real Madrid to be the most likely club capable of landing the out-of-favor Emmanuel Adebayor.
Real Madrid Most Likely To Land Emmanuel Adebayor From Manchester City
Having previously led the line at Arsenal, Adebayor enjoyed some minor success with City last campaign. The Togo striker scored 14 league goals in 26 appearances last season before the influx of new attacking blood arrived at Eastlands over the course of the last year which witnessed Adebayor far from first team action.
While Real Madrid’s goal getter Gonzalo Higuaín will miss the remainder of the La Liga season with a back injury, current Madrid bose Jose Mourinho is apparently keen on bringing Adebayor to the Bernabeu as cover. French club Monaco were interested in a potential deal but seem unable to meet any demands City may have for the striker.
