Manchester City’s Mario Balotelli In America Seeking Knee Treatment

City’s young gun Mario Balotelli is currently in the States seeking treatment on his damaged knee while hoping to avoid another operation on the injury that witnessed the Italian miss three months of the season. Currently in Vermont at Killington Medical Clinic with Bill Knowles since last Friday, Balotelli will now spend another week under going treatment on his knee that likely stemmed from the operation he endured in September to repair damaged meniscus cartilage.

Knowles has previously worked with players from Chelsea and Manchester United while also working with Olympic level athletes as well as England rugby players. Balotelli came to Manchester City from Inter Milan with knee problems but it’s also understood that the injury in question dates back to one suffered when Balotelli made his debut for City in the Europa League Vs. Romania’s Timisoara back in August.

Always boisterous with a thing or two to say over any topic, the seclusion of Knowles’ treatment facility in Vermont awards Balotelli the kind of focus he will need to get himself fit for the remainder of the season. With a top of the table clash Vs. rivals Manchester United set for 12 February, City boss Roberto Mancini spoke about the possibilities of Balotelli being ready for the derby:

“Can he play against United next month? Yes, maybe. But it’s more important that when he comes back he can play in all the games for the rest of the season. I think he can come back and play in the next four weeks”.

Balotelli’s City teammates will be in action again this weekend without him when they travel to Birmingham to face Aston Villa on Saturday. Manchester City are currently in second place in the league table level on points with Manchester United but behind on goal difference.
