Robbie Caldwell Hired By Clemson As Offensive Line Coach

Former Vanderbilt head coach Robbie Caldwell, Internet sensation for his folksy press conference at 2010 SEC Media Days, has found a new job that might allow us to hear more of his golden quotes. Caldwell will be returning to the state where he first began impregnating turkeys to coach the offensive line for Clemson, which we can only hope will lead to several interviews each year.

For those who missed out on Caldwell’s entire session over the summer, a sampling of his best lines about growing up in South Carolina.

You had to like watermelon, hunting and fishing, and frog-gigging, and played ball. We played sports to get out of work.

My first job was on the turkey farm. I don’t know if I can tell you what my job was, but I was on the insemination crew. That was a good job. We got paid by the hour.

Former offensive line coach Brad Scott -- also an unpopular former coach of Clemson archrival South Carolina -- will be moved into an undefined “administrative role.” This is partially Scott’s decision, we are told. Meanwhile, we all await the YouTube video of his introductory press conference.
