Charlie Adam Hands In Transfer Request, Odds Are, He’s Off To Liverpool

Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam has handed in a transfer request after nearly a month of speculation, and although it is believed that Liverpool are the front runners, Tangerines manager Ian Holloway continues to insist that Adam will not be sold. Holloway, who called Aston Villa's £3.5m bid for Adam "disgraceful," particularly in the wake of Darren Bent's £18m+ offer, is willing to stand his ground:

“I think he is still improving, and if someone wants to offer money I think they are wasting their time because we don’t need to sell him at the moment.”

Liverpool offered a £4m verbal bid for Adam, but it is believed that Blackpool are holding out for something closer to £8m. Although he cost only £500,000 when purchased from Rangers, Adam is an integral part of the Blackpool side and many believe he could be the deciding factor between staying up and going down.
