Anaheim Ducks Being Sued For Alleged Anti-Semitism

23-year-old Jason Bailey is a former member of the Anaheim Ducks minor league hockey system. Now a member of the Ottawa Senators organization, he used to play for the Bakersfield Condors, then an ECHL affiliate of the Ducks. While there, Bailey alledges, he was discriminated against him because of his Jewish faith and he is now suing them.

In the lawsuit, Bailey alleges that both Condors’ assistant head coach Mark Pederson and head coach Martin Raymond made anti-Semitic remarks.

After Bailey complained to management, he was sent to the Iowa Chops, where he didn’t play either, according to a copy of the lawsuit.

Ducks officials apparently had the coaches write apology letters but Bailey did not feel the response was appropriate enough by the organization. Both coaches were also suspended in 2009 in response to the incidents.
