Deadline day in Serie A is heating up, and it appears as though the most wanted man in the country is Brazilian striker Amauri, although why, exactly, is anyone's guess. Juventus, despite losing both Fabio Quagliarella for the season and Luca Toni for at least a few weeks, are desperate to offload Amauri. It says quite a bit about a striker's worth that a club who's barely found the net since Quagliarella's injury is trying anxiously to get rid of a potential goalscorer.
Juventus Striker Amauri Is A Wanted Man, With Parma His Latest Suitor
Then again, watching Amauri move is rather like watching a game in slow motion, so it’s rather surprising that there’s any interest at all. Palermo showed interest but were unable to bring him in. Clubs abroad tried to obtain his services, but reports are that the Brazilian rejected those offers in favors of staying at Juventus.
The Parma move seems imminent. Should Amauri really be out the door, Juventus will replace him instantly with Alessandro Matri from Cagliari. Considering Matri’s brace at the weekend, fans of the Rossoblu will likely not be pleased with this development.
