2011 NFL Draft: Mark Ingram And Marcell Dareus Leaving Alabama Early, According To Report

Alabama Crimson Tide RB Mark Ingram and DL Marcell Dareus will announce their early entry into the 2011 NFL Draft at a joint press conference on Friday, according to ESPN's Joe Schad. The report also mentions WR Julio Jones as "likely to follow," though he apparently won't be announcing at the press conference.

Ingram, the 2009 Heisman Trophy winner, is listed as the No. 15 pick in our most recent 2011 mock draft, going to the Miami Dolphins. Our draft has Dareus going No. 8 to the Tennessee Titans, but Ingram’s the headliner here because he carries the ball a lot.

Ingram's follow-up to his Heisman run didn't go quite as well as hoped, with the big back producing only 875 yards after missing two games and seeing Trent Richardson take on a bigger role in the offense. Ingram and Dareus were named the MVPs of the 2009 BCS National Championship Game, Dareus for his victimization of Texas' offense and that shovel-pass touchdown.
