According to Joe Schad of ESPN, UCLA safety Rahim Moore is opting for the 2011 NFL Draft.
Rahim Moore opts for 2011 NFL Draft
Moore didn’t have the season many expected in 2010. After leading the nation with 10 interceptions in 2009, Moore had only one this season. He also had 77 tackles, and four pass breakups.
Moore’s stats dip was due in part to play-calling change at UCLA. In 2009, he was asked to drop back in coverage more often. In 2010, he played closer to the line of scrimmage.
The change should actually help him as a prospect. There were questions after last about how well he defended the run. Although he’s not a star run defender, he’s improved.
Considering his excellent hands and lateral agility, Moore projects as the premier free safety in this year’s draft. He projects somewhere in the late first or early second round.
