Clemson's passing offense is 16th best in the nation, but face a solid Virginia Tech pass defense led by junior cornerback Jayron Hosley.
Hosley isn't especially tall or physical. He's so highly regarded because of his playmaking ability. He has arguably the best hands of any cornerback in college football. This season he's already snagged two interceptions and broken up two other passes.
Junior middle linebacker Bruce Taylor has turned heads this season with his ability to get after the passer. Along with Hosley, he could be the key to today's game. How he handles Clemson's unique triple option offense could determine the game. Taylor has solid size, but his nine quarterback hurries this season are impressive.
Virginia Tech/Clemson NFL Draft watch notes

Virginia Tech will also rely heavily on junior running back David Wilson, a site favorite. Wilson plays with excellent bend and has the speed to break big plays. If he gets 20-25 touches today, Tech should win and his NFL Draft stock will continue to rise.
Of course, Clemson defensive tackle Brandon Thompson will have a lot to say about that. He has the explosiveness to quickly disrupt Wilson’s running lanes. Thompson is regarded as the best defensive tackle in the class and will get to show it today.
Clemson defensive end
continued to struggle last week against Florida State, registering just a single tackle. He’s looking more and more like a man without a position at the next level.
Site ratings might have be redone again soon. Tigers tight end
looks more legit than I ever thought. He catches the ball outside his frame routinely and gets up the field fluidly.
