Rangers vs. Tigers ALCS Game 3 Preview: Time, TV Schedule, Pitchers And More

The American League Championship Series moves to Detroit after two games in Texas, and the Tigers find themselves still searching for their first win. The Rangers took Game 2 in dramatic fashion, with Nelson Cruz hitting a grand slam in the bottom of the 11th.

"It's been a great two games. It didn't go the right way, obviously," manager Jim Leyland said. "(The Rangers) earned it, and we didn't quite get it done. We haven't been able to come up with any big hits."

Doug Fister, who allowed just one run in five innings in the ALDS-clincher against the Yankees, takes the mound for the Tigers. He's been tremendous for the Tigers at Comerica Park since being acquired at the deadline, posting a 0.98 ERA while winning four of five starts. He's not fazed by his team's current situation.

“It can’t change the approach for the pitcher at all,” Fister said. “It doesn’t change the mindset, it doesn’t change how you attack hitters.”

Colby Lewis takes the mound for the Rangers. He was roughed up by the Tigers in two starts this year, posting a 15.95 ERA, allowing a laughable .476 batting average and lasting a grand total of 7 1/3 innings. The sample size is too small to count, but for Tigers fans grasping for any good news, that's something.

Because Game 2 was moved from Sunday to Monday due to the threat of rain, the two teams lost their scheduled off-day for travel, meaning the two teams will pick things up Tuesday evening following an overnight cross-country flight. It'll be interesting to see if the quick turnaround affects either team, especially the catchers. Alex Avila's sixth-inning single Monday was just his second hit of the entire postseason.

Game Date/Time: Tuesday, Oct. 11, 8:05 p.m. ET

Stadium: Comerica Park, Detroit, Michigan

TV: FOX

Projected Starters

Texas Rangers: Colby Lewis (14-10, 4.40 ERA)

Detroit Tigers: Doug Fister (11-3, 2.83 ERA)
