The 2012 NFL Draft stock of Nebraska's Jared Crick took a serious hit today when it was announced he will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn pectoral muscle.
Crick suffered the injury late against Ohio State on Saturday in the team's 34-27 win.
The injury could keep Crick out of postseason all-star games and may hold him out of Nebraska's pro day and the Scouting Combine. Fortunately for Crick, what he can do on the field is a known commodity and it shouldn't hurt his draft standing.

In five games this season, Crick has 22 tackles, three tackles for loss and a sack. On his career, Crick has 35 tackles for loss and 20 sacks. He profiles best as a 3-4 end. At 6-foot-6, 285 pounds, Crick certainly has the size to line up on the outside in a 3-4. He could probably shift to being a power left end in certain 4-3 schemes as well.
It would be hard to see him staying inside in a 4-3, however. Crick plays with a lot of effort, but can get overpowered. There are also questions about whether or not he looked so good early in his career because he played next to

Crick strongly considered entering last year’s draft, but returned to Nebraska to earn his degree.
