The Suck for Luck campaign has become self-aware. In Judy Battista's excellent story in the New York Times, she asks Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck about fans rooting for their teams to lose on purpose to draft him No. 1 in the 2012 NFL Draft.

"I am aware of it," Luck said. "A couple of guys told me about it. I think it's stupid. Simply put."

What Luck and everyone else needs to realize is that many of the people touting the Suck for Luck campaign are doing so only in jest. It’s a fun thing to write and make bad jokes about. Heck, the most popular stories on this site are often those centered around Luck.
In the story, Joel Thorman of SBN Kansas City Chiefs site Arrowhead Pride is the voice of reason, which you’d expect. Joel is a pro’s pro, not only as a blogger, but as a fan.
“As crazy as it sounds, we’re looking at schedule scenarios, figuring out how the Chiefs can be competitive with the Chargers in the A.F.C. West,” Thorman told Battista.
Really, that’s the right thing for fans to do. Almost everyone wants their team to succeed. But I’d be lying as a Cleveland Browns fan if I said the idea of Luck in brown and orange didn’t intrigue me. The same goes for Colts and Dolphins fans. They probably want their team to win, but losing this season may not be such a bad thing.Read Battista’s full story here.
