The Atlanta Falcons are off to a disappointing 2-3 start and will look to rebound against the Carolina Panthers in an NFC South match up. Matt Ryan will have to get along without rookie wide receiver Julio Jones, who's banged up and will miss the game, but he will still have his weapons in Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez, as well as running back Michael Turner going against a Panthers defense that has been gashed on the ground.

The Panthers on the other hand are off to a 1-4 start, but the team still oozes excitement behind rookie quarterback Cam Newton, who's off to a great start. The team hasn't pieced together many wins, their only one coming at home in a monsoon to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but they've been able to score points and stay in many of their games. Their defense has hurt them, but that's what will happen with losing starters especially key starters at linebacker. Receiver Steve Smith has had a resurgence with Newton, so the Falcons will look to hold him down and pound the football.
